Captain Fantastic are still here to help with our Kids Party Games Guide! You may want to keep it to a specific theme, or you may want to mix and match! Whatever you do; smile, get involved and most importantly… Have Fun!

Superhero Party Games

Mask Decorating – If you don’t mind getting a little messy this is a great one for parties and leaves your attendees with something special to take home with them! Plain face masks are cheap and cheerful and the possibilities are endless. Dig out your arts and crafts materials: glue, paint, glitter, and the rest! Let them design their own superhero, and get into character for the party! This activity is non-gender biased and likely to appeal to everyone! Just remember to note that this could be a messy one on your invitations!

Villain Bowling – Invest in a cheap kids bowling set, print out pictures of your favourite villains and stick them to the pins, then let the little superheroes take turns in knocking down the villains! You can keep it non-competitive your introduce prizes! The choice is yours!

The Balloon Game – Fill balloons with small plastic characters (the best place is eBay or Amazon for these), and make it your group of superheroes mission to release as many of the captured characters as possible, in the shortest amount of time! Sound too easy? They are not allowed to use their hands!

Princess Party Games

Fairy God Mother’s Footsteps – A variation on the classic party game ‘Grandmother’s Footsteps’. Give the chosen Fairy God Mother, a wand, and some wings, and when she catches a princess moving – she freezes them with her magic wand! Whoever wins, takes over the wings, wand and position as Fairy God Mother!

Princess Says – A variation of ‘Simon Says’. Add a touch of sparkle by giving the Princess a plastic tiara during their turn!

Princess Photo Booth – Grab a box big enough for a child to stand in,  and theme it to your child’s favourite princess! Glue a poster in the back and use glitter, crepe paper, coloured netting and anything else you can think of to make the booth bright and colourful! Take it in turns to take pictures! If you have an ‘old school’ Instant camera, even better!

Pirate Party Games

Pin the Sword on the Pirate – We all know the classic ‘Pin the tail on the Donkey’. This is a simple variation. You can find a template relatively cheap online, or make your own, or find an alternative on google images! We think A3 would be the best size to print at! Fun and games for everyone!!

Treasure Hunt – The obvious one! Think: Easter egg hunt but theme your clues all things pirate! Pack a treasure chest full of goodies for extra “ARRRGHHHH”.

Walk the Plank – We use this in our parties and it always goes down a treat! Mark a space to simulate a plank and blindfold the participant. Split the party group in half either side of the plank. One group are responsible for directing the participant off the plank, and the others are there to guide the blindfolded child away from the watery depths! A very noisy, giggle-provoking game!

Science Party Games

Magnetic Fishing – Fill a large container with water. Next, drop in objects – some magnetic and some not. Plastic toys, pennies, paper clips, buttons. Make a magnetic ‘fishing rod’ and get the children fishing! See if they can figure out what objects are magnetic, and what objects are not!

Static Balloon Game – Play with the whole group or split into teams. Have a number of balloons pre-inflated. How many balloons can they stick to the wall in X amount of time? Prepare to laugh at the ‘mad scientist’ hairstyles following this activity – and have a camera handy!!

Make Slime – Another one directly from our own slime parties! Hand out small plastic bowls and something to stir with (a straw or lolly-pop stick will do), distribute some PVA glue, food colouring ( your choice which colour), and stir stir stir! Lastly, add some Borax solution (Borax and water), mix together and there you have it! Your very own slime! This creates something called a long chain polymer! Very ‘sciencey’! We would advise trying this out once before you introduce it to the party just to get a rough idea of the required quantities!

Disco Party Games

Rockstar Competition – Get some inflatable musical instruments, pick a song, and ask 2 or 3 children to do their best Rockstar impressions for about a minute! Let the audience judge, and carry on until everyone has had their turn!

Dance off – Self-explanatory! This can be done individually as groups! You can look for the silliest dance or the most impressive! Keep it fun, and get everyone involved!

Limbo – Simple, classic and easy. Line the children up and Limbo until your heart’s content!
