Who doesn’t love leaving a party with a bag of goodies – whether you’re a kid or an adult? We certainly don’t mind a few foodie treats, bath time soothers or similar.
But, what about the youngsters? What will they be returning home with from parties next year? And, will the contents go straight in the bin (or stomach) never to be seen again? Probably not, if a selection of trending goodie bags we’ve been hearing all about is anything to go by. Certainly, here are the type of party goodie bags we expect to see in 2022:
Personalised party bags.
Treat bags will be personalised to the theme of the party (rather than the kid) in 2022. But, the child’s name will still be on the bag – and plenty of thought will go into the contents (as opposed to a pile of sweets and plastic toys). On that note, it’s much better to have one treasured gift than lots of throw-away plastic.
Eco-friendly treat bags.
Never has it been more prescient to be aware of the planet – and kids, in particular, are on top of this. Who can blame them? It’s their future inheritance after all. So, at the next party you host for children, why not make sure the take-away goodie bag contains a gift, such as a couple of packets of seeds for them to grow or a tiny plant to nurture? Who knows, you may just kickstart a lifetime hobby for some of the guests.
Donation bags.
On that selfless note, how about giving a donation to a tiger sanctuary or bird reserve, etc on behalf of each child at the party. Their goodie bag can contain a leaflet telling them all about the animal they have helped and what it will mean to them. Included should be a thank you card and a bar of chocolate or lollipop, etc (just so there is something physical in the bag). This is especially appropriate for animal-themed parties.
Goodie bag gift cards.
Yes, treat bags that double as a gift card to a favourite ice cream store, gift shop or bowling alley, etc are always a winner – for both kids and parents. It’s a useful gift that children will have more family fun with than a pile of plastic or sweets. They could also go to the bowling alley or ice cream shop with their friends – making it another ‘party-like’ event for them to look forward to.
Seasonally-sorted bags.
If the party you’re hosting is in winter then why not have the goodie bags contain a pair of cute animal-themed mittens and a sachet or two of hot chocolate? If it’s summer, how about flip flops and some sunscreen for when the kids can all meet up again at the beach another day? These are the kind of party goodie bags that parents in particular will love. Meanwhile, stationery supplies, such as cute notebooks, fancy pens and erasers are something that goes down well in a goodie bag all year round.
