Nothing expresses love like handmade gifts and cards. Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Teachers Mums & Dads will all appreciate the effort and sentiment behind anything home crafted! Not only is it a lot of fun but, it will save the pennies!
What you will need: Dried wood slices, twigs, twine, glitter, paper, card, glue and paint. If you want to get really into it, it would be handy to have a drill & some eye screws ( Normally found lingering in kitchen drawers left over from wall frames).
Wood slices are readily available at Hobbycraft or can be cut and prepared from a log. They make great templates for pictures and lettering!
You could even use salt dough to create circles or other shapes to your preference!
You can create simple baubles out of the big ones:
Like these Hello Kitty and Jack Skellington inspired baubles, you could paint your favorite characters!
You could create cute personalised wall hangings with the smaller ones:
The kids will love getting involved with the simpler tasks and will be very proud of their creations! Home crafting gifts and other knick-knacks can easily turn into a long-term hobby!
For that extra something special, Rust-oleom do a fantastic range of glow in the dark, neon, metallic and sparkly paints and last for ages!
It is lovely to receive a Christmas card. But it means so much more to receive a handmade one! Packs of coloured card are relatively inexpensive and if you don’t have paints, glitter and glue to hand, you can still make meaningful cards with pens and pencils! These templates are perfect to cut out and colour in and can be stuck to the card. Pinterest has some fantastic examples to help inspire you!
You could make paper snowflakes and stick them to contrasting coloured card for a really pretty winter greetings card!
Give younger children a template to follow. This could be something you have drawn or found online and printed: they can get quite upset if their own pictures do not turn out quite right.
