As every parent and carer knows, parties don’t stop when the schools are off. So we’ve put together our top Easter-themed party activities, which will keep all little bunnies entertained while celebrating a special someone’s birthday.
Easter Craft Table
Now is a great time to decorate Easter bonnets. Just put up a craft table full of ribbons, paper, assorted decorative items, stickers, glue and felt pens. Then let the creative processes begin. Another fun Easter craft activity is to colour and decorate eggs. For this, you can add dye and glitter to the craft mix. To introduce a competitive edge to the proceedings, why not award prizes for the best in class.
Cupcake decorating
Cakes – and cupcakes in particular – always go down well at a kiddie’s party. And more so if the little ones get to decorate their own cupcakes to take home to mum or granny etc. Simply supply the cupcakes by baking them in advance, then encourage the kids to use frosting, decorations, sprinkles and any other Easter-themed cake toppers that you put out.
Easter egg scavenger hunt
If the kids are older and even in their early teens, then make an Easter egg hunt more interesting for them by getting them to crack Easter clues as they go along. Encouraging them to work together to find the eggs.
@4WMNcom: “One thing that you should always keep in mind is that Easter is a time for everyone, not just for children. This means that everyone should be able to enjoy the celebration without being too involved in the activities or games.”
Pin the tail on the bunny
An Easter version of pin the tail on the don; all kids love this game because it’s just so much fun. Instead of a pin though, put blue tack on the end of the tail. That way, no one’s going to get jabbed accidentally. Just draw a big, colourful donkey and bring along a scarf to use as a blindfold.
Bunny ear napkin rings
When serving food at your Easter party, make sure you serve it with bunny ear napkin rings. Made from cardboard tubes, these napkins are bound to put a smile on all your guests’ faces. You can even get the kids to make them for you as a craft activity. All you’ll need to supply is toilet or kitchen roll tubes, scissors, marker pens and acrylic paint. The rest is up to your guests’ imaginations.
Plant flowers in time for spring
A great way to celebrate Easter is to plant flowers. The weather should be warm enough and the ground soft by now, so it’s an ideal time to press little shoots into the ground. If you have young kids at your party, then they’ll love to do this. It’s also a great way to educate them about nature’s wonderful bounty.
No matter what activities you choose, make sure to have plenty of food and drinks on hand to keep the kids energised. And don’t forget the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy spending time with your little ones! Happy Easter.
