Meet May’s Entertainer of the Month

Kris running a disco

This months entertainer Kris has been a children’s entertainer since he was a teenager! He helped out the entertainer at a family party and they were so impressed they offered him a job! Kris was introduced to Captain Fantastic by Scott and has now been running our first franchise for 8 months.

Hobbies? I’m an actor, so I like the cinema and theatre, as most actors do. But I’m also really into sports like snowboarding. I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie!

Favourite board game? The London board game where you have to race around all the landmarks. Or Risk. I like tactical games.

Favourite ice cream flavour? Lemon. It reminds me of going to the ice cream van with my Grandad as a kid.

You’ve been running a Captain Fantastic franchise in the TN postcode area since September, how is it going?

It’s going great. I’ve had really positive feedback, which is nice. I cover the Tonbridge and Sevenoaks area and word is starting to get out about how great Captain Fantastic parties are. I’ve had lots of comments about how our parties offer something a bit different. They are gender neutral and adaptable with our main characters being both male and female, which I think is something that parents look for when they’re organising a party for lots of children. And of course, I’m a business owner now, which is another string to my bow.

What is your favourite type of party to do?

I love the Premium Superhero parties. All our parties are great, but with the premium, you get so much more. More games and tricks and disco lights. It really captivates the kids and is so much fun to perform as an entertainer. I’ve worked for a lot of entertainment companies and that is what I like about Captain Fantastic, all our children’s parties are for the children, not just about the entertainer showing off! And there are plenty of jokes in there for the parents to enjoy too. We want them to feel like a fun family event. Our premium parties add the wow factor and entertain everyone, it’s more like going to a show than a birthday party!

We’ve had some lovely weather lately, what things would you recommend in the TN postcode to do with the kids this summer?

Kris - Childrens Entertainer Kent

There are some really great outdoor activities and attractions in Kent. “Pick your own” is always fun to do with kids, so maybe a visit to somewhere like Downingbury Farm near Tunbridge Wells. If you’ve got a train enthusiast the Spa Valley Railway is a great day out. Hopefully we get lots of lovely sunny weather this year because Kent has some lovely country parks to explore.

What do you remember most about school parties when you were little?

There was always a sweet stall at our school discos. I probably shouldn’t say this, but I remember pinging those sweetie necklaces at girls! And that Superman song that played at every single disco! And then you had about 80 kids running around the hall and sliding on their knees! School discos today are so much better.

What do you think helps to make a child’s birthday special?

I think giving them a day that is just for them is important. It might not seem like much to us adults, after all, we try to forget our birthdays as we get older! But for a child, having a day that’s all about them makes them feel special. I was born on a leap year so didn’t get a special day every year – it was just a made up day a lot of the time!

Cheers Kris!
