Sarah

Hobbies? I like playing computer games. And cooking. I won Come Dine with Me!

Favourite Season? Spring, because it’s not too hot when you’re doing parties!

Superhero power? I would love to have the power to time travel.

What makes a perfect party venue?

No stairs! Us entertainers don’t like having to carry all our equipment up stairs, we’re tired before the party has even started! The same goes for parking. Make sure your chosen venue has easy access for setting up. Big open spaces are great so the kids have plenty of space to run around. Make sure you’re able to put lots of decorations up to personalise the space and make it special. Just don’t leave balloons where the kids can reach them, they’re really distracting and they keep popping!

What is the most memorable party you’ve ever done?

I did an Eid party. It was great to do something different to a birthday party. It was a small party and the parents got involved too. Whenever the parents get involved it makes the party so much more fun and the kids enjoy it more. I like parties like that, they really feel like you’re part of someone’s special day.

What party extra do you think should ALWAYS be added to make a party special?

Balloon modelling is a great extra. The kids love it and they all get to take one home. Face painting is always nice too, it’s not too distracting from the main entertainment so you’ll definitely get your monies worth and each child will get some one-to-one time and be made to feel special.

What is your favourite thing about being an entertainer?

I like feeling that I’ve given someone a memorable day. Birthday parties are the things you remember as an adult looking back.

What songs should people stop playing at kids parties?

“Let it go” from Frozen. Enough already! The kids don’t know how to dance to it and it’s just awkward. The same goes for nursery rhymes, they just don’t work. “Can’t stop the feeling” will get everyone up on the dance floor. Kids don’t really know how to dance, they just jump enthusiastically, so anything upbeat and energetic from Disney. My job is to knacker the kids out! And I do like to play “Gangnam style” and get the parents to join in!

Cheers Sarah!
